HISTORY OF FEDERAL SCIENCE AND TECHNICAL COLLEGE ILESA.
Founding
The College was established in 1988 as Federal Technical College (FTC) Ilesa and later upgraded to Federal Science and Technical College (FSTC), in the year 2002 /2003.
Early Years
- Student admissions commenced in 1991.
- The college initially started with three departments namely:
- Electrical Installation and Maintenance
- Plumbing and Pipe Fittings
- Blocklaying and Concreting.
The first set of students graduated in 1994.
Expansion and Growth of FSTC Ilesa.

Key Developments
- Introduction of Business Studies (1995): Notable increase in student enrollment.
- New Courses: Several courses introduced to expand academic offerings.
- Addition of Basic and Senior Secondary Schools (2002/2003):
- Junior Secondary School (JSS)
- Senior Secondary School (SSS)
This led to official changing of name from FTC to FSTC Ilesa.

- Diverse Academic Paths: Students completing JSS could choose between:
- Craft courses (hands-on vocational training)
